Privacy Policy — Timeline Planner

Timeline Planner (“the app”) is made by Sought & Found (“we,” “us”). We built this app to respect your privacy. This policy explains what happens to your information.

The short version

  • We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
  • Your timelines, events, notes, and photos live on your device and in your own iCloud account.
  • There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
  • You stay in control: you can edit or delete your data at any time.

Information you create

Everything you add to the app — timeline titles, locations, events, times, notes, photos, and reminders — is your content. It is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database, and, if you’re signed in to iCloud, synced through your private iCloud account so it’s available on your other devices.

We do not have a server that receives, stores, or can access this content.

Apple services the app uses

The app relies on Apple frameworks that operate under Apple’s privacy policy:

  • iCloud / CloudKit — to store and sync your timelines in your private iCloud, and to power sharing (below). Your data resides in Apple’s iCloud, tied to your Apple ID.
  • Maps (MapKit) — address search and “Open in Maps” use Apple Maps. The app does not request or track your location.
  • Calendar (EventKit) — only if you tap “Add to Apple Calendar,” and only to add your events to your calendar. The app requests write-only access and does not read your calendar.
  • Notifications — reminders you set are scheduled as local notifications on your device.
  • Photos — photos you add are chosen by you and stored with your timeline (on your device and in your iCloud). The app does not scan or upload your photo library.

Sharing and collaboration

If you choose to share or collaborate on a timeline, that timeline (including any photos in it) is shared through Apple’s iCloud sharing with the people you invite or anyone you give a “follow” link to. Sharing happens only when you initiate it, and you can stop sharing at any time. Shared data is handled by Apple’s iCloud; please also see Apple’s privacy policy.

What we receive

Nothing. We (Sought & Found) do not operate analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking in this app, and we do not receive your content or usage data.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud, you control it:

  • Delete individual timelines, events, locations, or photos in the app.
  • Delete the app to remove its on-device data.
  • Manage or remove iCloud data via Settings → [your name] → iCloud on your device.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, within the app or on our website.
