This was, what some may call the first “date”. I had asked her to show me around Loma Linda for a program that I was thinking of applying to. I couldn’t really think of any other excuse to see her but I figured that was the best one I can come up with.

We arranged to meet across the street from the employee parking lot. As I was walking down to the intersection, I saw her. She looked beautiful; waiting there for me as I was still trying to figure out where to meet her. As we began our walk, she showed me the building that I would be going to along with some of the other buildings around campus. She had gone there for her program so she was very familiar with the campus. We had walked around some of the halls throughout the hospital and the campus, just talking and her telling me stories of her time at Loma Linda, from the crazy cafeteria guy to the insane lectures.

It was a Saturday when we went so the campus was mostly empty. We walked in one of her lecture halls and I asked her where she used to sit. She showed me her seat and we joked about the stress the room induced. We walked down one of the halls and some pictures caught my attention, which were pictures of the Days of Creation. We then had a little conversation on which one was our favorite.

After that, we decided to just sit and talk outside for a bit. Every minute spent, I enjoyed with her, just hoping she felt the same. I was genuinely hungry and figured to ask her to come with me to grab some food. We ended up eating at a sushi restaurant and I found a bit more about some of the things she likes. We continued our walk and said goodbye, but I really hoped that I would get to see her again.

It was a wicked, excellent day.
